About MFGA

To train individuals to reach their fullest potential and to achieve their goals through efficient and personalized training programs.

Participants will be assisted in determining their goals and trained to achieve them through supervised drills, on and off ice exercises as well as detailed evaluations. Students training will be made efficient through individual attention and personalized training. Their personal and athletic development will be attended to through the training, the demands of commitment to and ownership of the participants’ part of the program. Instructors are chosen personally by Michael Filardo for their athletic ability, strength of character and their personable natures to provide quality interactions with participants.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMFilardoCoaching_2 Michael Filardo’s Goaltending Academy has a number of experienced goaltending coaching staff from high school, junior and college levels to interact with all levels of students. MFGA’s goals are to teach the goaltenders to understand the art of goaltending, proper techniques, and skills to improve performance while developing playing style. MFGA also strives to entertain the goaltenders while they are learning how to become a better goaltender and create a positive supportive environment of learning and enjoyment.
At the end of each clinic and/or camp, each goaltender will receive a goaltending evaluation sheet. This provides a tangible way for participants to experience continuous benefits of MFGA’s programs.

Each of the MFGA’s methods, both on and off the ice, are individually modified for each goaltender and are important to Michael Filardo and his goaltending coaching staff as well, because we care about the training that has to be done for each goaltender. MFGA stands next to each goaltender until he/she has been successful with his/her performance. The more goaltenders consistently train correctly, the more efficiently goaltenders will experience improvement.

Michael Filardo’s Goaltending Academy provides specific detailed instructions with innovative and modern goaltending systems, as well as student to instructor ratios 2:1 during mini-clinics & 3:1 during camps. It is very important for the goaltenders to work in a small group because they will benefit more from quality time of training. We keep our lecture brief with important activity cues to maximize ice time and minimize time spent receiving instructions.
